Norwich Universityís Athletic Training degree program develops a studentís skills in prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care, rehabilitation, reconditioning, health-care administration, professional development and responsibility.
Students work in clinical settings with a variety of patients, and find themselves in supervised situations that encourage common sense, rational thinking and problem-solving skills. The program exposes students to professionals of the athletic health care team both in the classroom and in clinical settings. With completion of the required coursework, students in the Athletic Training Education Program will be eligible to sit for the BOC Exam.
The Norwich University undergraduate Athletic Training education program has been accredited since 2005 by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. The program is officially recognized as having met standards established by the National Athletic Trainersí Association.
The major provides excellent preparation for entry into professional schools of physical therapy, physician assistant, occupational therapy, exercise sciences, biomechanics and medicine.
